January 27th 2023
Good evening Willowbrook community,
Your newly elected board met Saturday morning to get to work on a few pressing items.
Firstly, we appointed the officers, Chris Otten as President, Tabitha Gusler as Treasurer, and Michael Bailly as Secretary and Vice President.
Our top priority was to review the 2024 budget and expected dues.
We determined that we could reduce this year's dues.
We are working with Omni to enact this change before they officially lock in the old values.
If all goes as planned, the 2024 dues will be $125, rather than $165.
We are looking at making changes to the bylaws on 2 points.
We want to expand the board from 3 to 5 members. This will allow for more diverse viewpoints, and help with our second change, updating board member terms from one year to two.
We will keep all Owners in the loop on this progress, and if/when we need a formal meeting and vote.
We began looking at the various Schedules, which are the guidelines that Omni uses for approving/denying changes, and what would require a variance request.
Right now, we're looking at how to relax the door color restrictions.
We will let you know when we get this updated.
Keep in mind, that you will still need to submit a request for cosmetic changes, but we hope the process will be easier going forward.
While we are locked into our 2024 contracts, we have begun looking at costs for both HOA management companies and landscaping companies.
This isn't an indication of dissatisfaction on behalf of the board. Still, we believe it's our responsibility to ensure that the contracts we keep meet a proper balance of price and service provided.
Thank you,
-Michael Bailly
